Licensing
QInsight requires a valid license to operate — without one, the application only prompts for activation after startup.
You obtain a Free license (personal accounts) or a Trial license
(company accounts) self-service at
account.qenex.net. It is activated in QInsight
by entering a license key (format QNX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) in
Help → Info → License; the activation requires an internet connection.

Internet connection
QInsight verifies the license automatically in the background. Every license requires the computer to connect to the internet periodically:
- Free — at least once every 2 days,
- Trial and Commercial — at least once every 30 days (also suitable for test benches and laboratories with limited connectivity).
If the computer does not connect within the period, the license temporarily stops being valid; once the computer connects again, the license recovers automatically, with no user action needed.
For computers entirely without internet access (test benches, isolated networks), paid licenses offer offline activation. It is not enabled automatically — first request it at info@qenex.net and we enable it for your license. Then copy the machine code from QInsight (Help → License), generate an activation code at account.qenex.net from any connected device, and paste it back into QInsight. A license activated this way works without a connection until the subscription end.
When the license does not work
Check the license state in Help → Info → License — the dialog shows the status, tier, validity, and, for the Free license, the current number of communicated signals. The same dialog lets you re-activate the license with a license key at any time. Common messages and their solutions are listed in Troubleshooting.
